In future further investigations have to be carried out to create an expanded array of functional properties for developing more efficient and cost-effective multifunctional protective textile products. The original work presented in this thesis was undertaken with a view to search for the proper active ingredients, biopolymers, finishing formulations and processes for imparting the demanded functional or multifunctional properties like, antibacterial, UV-blocking, easy-care, self-cleaning, etc. to cellulosic fabrics especially cotton fabrics. To achieve the aforementioned tasks, the following studies were 7carried out: I. Green options for imparting antibacterial functionality to cotton fabrics. II. Smart options to fabricate durable polyfunctional cotton fabrics UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
