Background: Assessment of blunt abdominal trauma patients is often difficult by clinical means alone. Laboratory tests and imaging studies are cornerstones for evaluation. According to The Eastern Association for Surgery of Trauma [EAST] guidelines, US and CT can be used in assessing vitally stable patients. The ultimate goal of US and CT is to detect hemoperitoneum and visceral organ injury. Because of radiation hazards and high cost of CT scans, many studies tried to use US as the sole imaging modality in blunt abdominal trauma [BAT]. Our study evaluated US for detection of hemoperitoneum and organ injury against CT as the gold standard in BAT. Methods: Our study included 60 patients presenting to ER as victims of BAT in a hemodynamically stable condition. After primary survey and clinical assessment, US was done for detection of hemoperitoneum and organ injury. CT scan was done for confirmation of US findings
