However, developing the maritime transport infrastructure and the economy is a process that depends on a number of factors that may be controlled internally inside the country and others that are in relation to other countries. The internally controlled variables can be summarized as follows, the Population, Government Consumption and the Gross Capital Formation, while the externally factors are the Foreign Direct Investment, Logistics Performance index and the Quality of Ports infrastructure index. This study highlighted the role of the maritime transport infrastructure in the economic development in Egypt from 2007-2016. A panel data has been gathered from 13 different countries from 2007-2016 to examine the effect of developing the maritime transport infrastructure on the economy.
