Approximately 75 % of patients with a severe form of CP suffer from hip dislocations.Purpose: To investigate the effect of weight bearing exercises on hip joint stability in spastic cerebral palsy children.Subjects: Thirty non-ambulant spastic (from grade 1 to grade 2 according to Modified Ashworth Scale) cerebral palsy children from both sexes (15 boys and 15 girls), their ages ranged from 1 to 5 years old. Methods: They selected from outpatient clinic of Sherbin central hospital. They were randomly assigned into two groups of equal number: control group (A) and study group (B). The control group (A) received a selected exercise program for spastic diaplegia or quadiplegia for one hour which was conducted for three times per week for successive three months while the study group (B) received the same exercises program given to the control group in addition to the static weight bearing exercises and standing on the standing frame as a home routine for one hour daily. Both groups were evaluated by hip migration index before and after the treatment program that presents as hip joint stability in this study. X-Ray was carried out to detect hip migration index value for all children UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
