However, the local recurrence of aneurysmal bone cyst one of the most common complication after surgical management of ABC. Recently the local recurrence rate has significantly improved by the appropriate method of removal as our study revealed 11 cases of recurrence from total of 151 patients (7%). In spite of low recurrence rate, the aim of this study to detect the prognostic factors related to it{u2019}s recurrence. Results: The study did not conclude statistically significant factors related to the recurrence but revealed strong association between certain factors and local recurrence.Discussion: In spite of absence of statistically significant factors related to the recurrence, but there were higher association between the local recurrence and open physis and location of ABC and non-usage of bone cement. Conclusion: The main line of treatment (extended curettage using high-speed burr) was and still the most appropriate modality of management specially if application of PMMA is done. The higher recurrence rate in patients with open physis may not related to aggressiveness of the lesion but also due to excess caution during extended curettage that may lead to elevation in recurrence rate UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
