The aim of the present study was to investigate the potential nephroprotective effects of different phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors, namely pentoxifylline, vinpocetine, cilostazol and sildenafil, in diclofenac-induced ARF in rats and to throw some light on their mechanism(s) of action. Pentoxifylline (100 mg/kg/day), vinpocetine (20 mg/kg/day), cilostazol (50 mg/kg/day) and sildenafil (5 mg/kg/day) were orally administered for 6 consecutive days. Renal failure was then induced by i.p. injection of diclofenac sodium (15 mg/kg) on days 4, 5, and 6 in all groups except control group UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
