The intra-articular injections of ozone have been documented as a treatment of osteoarthritis since the 1995s. Purpose: To examine the effect of intra-articular ozone injection verses ozone topical application on osteoarthritic knee treated with traditional physical therapy program in terms of knee joint pain, range of motion, health status and physical function. Methods: Forty five participants, from both sexes with grade II knee osteoarthritis (Kellgren and Lawrence classification) with age ranged from 40-55 years, were randomly assigned into 3 equal groups, group A: received physical therapy program (Ultrasonic, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, stretching and strengthening exercise), group B: received intra-articular ozone injection with physical therapy program, group C: received ozone topical application with physical therapy program. All patients assessed for knee pain intensity using visual analogue scale, knee joint range of motion using the digital water level (inclinometer) , health status and physical function with Dutch McMaster Toronto Arthritis Patient Preference Questionnaire pre and post treatment. Treatment program of physiotherapy was applied for 6 weeks, 3 sessions per week; each session was 1hour, while ozone therapy was applied for 6 weeks, 2 sessions per week, and topical application of ozone gel twice per day for 6 weeks. Results: There was significant improvement in all groups at all out come measures with a significant difference between all groups in favor of group B (P< 0.05) UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
