This was a prospective, randomized controlled study conducted on 40 patients septic shock; aiming at assessing a simplified lung ultrasound protocol in guiding early fluid resuscitation of patients with septic shock by postulating a score upon which further fluid resuscitation should be stopped to avoid fluid overload effects. 40 consecutive adult patients with septic shock in the ICU of Nasr city hospital for health insurance. Adult patients 18 years old with septic shock (mean arterial pressure <65 mmHg with evidence of poor tissue perfusion) who are diagnosed in the first 6 hours requiring fluid therapy. Patients will be divided randomly into two groups: the first will receive fluid resuscitation according to early goal-directed therapy with a target central venous pressure of 812 mmHg, whereas the second will receive fluids guided by simplified lung ultrasound protocol till reaching a score of 16
