The accuracy of PET{u2013}CT in localization of suspicious FDG uptake can lead to proper assessment of disease or its recurrence, thus allow for restaging of the disease and subsequently optimizing treatment plan for the patients. The aim of this work is to evaluate the role of 18F-FDG PET/CT in assessment of ovarian malignancies as regards primary diagnosis and staging ,also in detecting the recurrence ,peritoneal implants and secondary metastasis. Also follow up after surgery or chemotherapy. Our study included fifty patients, all of them performed PET- CT , forty one of them were diagnosed with ovarian malignant lesions underwent either surgical management or received chemotherapy , however their annual tumor marker assessment showed elevated CA 125 and were referred for PETCT assessment , the other nine cases were referred for PET-CT as they were suspected to have ovarian neoplastic lesions either clinically , laboratory or by other imaging modalities which were non conclusive . Owing to its metabolic tracing capability, PET/CT proved to have a superior role in the detection of ovarian carcinoma recurrence with a power of accurate localization of the lesions UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
