Background:Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and miRNAs were believed to play arole in the pathogenesis of many diseases .We investigated the expression of lncRNA H19 and miRNA-675 in patients with inflammatory bowel disease to clarify the ability of their usage as noninvasive diagnostic biomarkers in IBD. Methods: This case-control study was conductedon 97Egyptian adult subjects that were divided into 3 groups which were randomly selected from the outpatient clinic of the Tropical Medicine Department Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Ayni Hospitals.Thirty five UC patients, thirty two Crohns disease andthirty healthycontrols.Full history taking,Full physical examination , laboratory investigations , colonscopy including terminal ileoscopy and biopsy and activity was assessed clinically.Quantitative Real-time PCR (qPCR) forthe Detection of LNC H19 and mi RNA-675 was performed. Results : The estimated serum levels formiR-675 and H19 in theCDand UC groups in comparison to the control group showing high statistical difference between the two groups (P=0.0001 for each parameter) .Based upon the severity classifications in CD patients, our results showed no statistical significance between miR-675 and any stage of the disease while H19 revealed a significance between remission and severe cases only (P= 0.047).Alsoin UC patients, miR-675 showed significant higher values between remission and moderate (p-value= 0.02)and remission and severe cases(p-value= 0.037). Besides, H19 showed a significantly higher value between remission and moderate cases only (p-value=0.022
