<br/><br/> This research studies the effect of adding arginine (ARG) with the solvent Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) on the solubility of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and corrosion of carbon steel (CS) in aCO₂ removal unit using absorption technology. The experiments were performed under different conditions. The results showed that using ARG in small quantities improves CO₂ removal at low CO₂ partial pressures in the feed gas stream. Regarding the results of the effect of ARG on the corrosion of CS, it was found to act as an inhibitor for the corrosion process
