Objectives & aim of work: This study aims at studying the role of MDCT in detection and grading of blunt abdominal trauma and to determine the usefulness of MDCT findings in deciding the management of patients with abdominal trauma. Background: Blunt abdominal trauma is on rise due to increased automobiles in urban areas. This has created a need for early detection and proper management. MDCT can be useful in early detection of internal organ damage and may help surgeons decide either to manage surgically or conservatively. In view of the paucity of research and industrial development, there is a need for recent data. Patient and methods: This cross sectional analytical study was carried on 32 patients in the period starting from November 2020 till April 2021 at the Radiology Department in collaboration with General Surgery Department at Kasr Al Ainy Hospital, Cairo University using MDCT. MDCT findings were compared with surgical findings in operated cases, and in rest MDCT findings were compared with the clinical outcome Results: Among the 32 cases studied, all 32 had positive CT findings of Abdominal Trauma, out of which 4 patients underwent surgery and the remaining were managed conservatively. The age group of the patients was ranging from 20 to 60 years with male preponderance and the majority of the patients involved productive age group of 20-30 years making their optimal management vital
