The epidemiological investigation of paramyxovirus (PMV) infection in pigeons was carried out on outbreaks from different localities as (Giza , Kalubia and Sharkia) The three isolates were subjected to physicochemical , biological characterization and pathological investigationsThe isolate showed that it falls within the highly virulence strains of PPMV - 1 (velogenic) The histopathological examination of brain tissues revealed there was neuronal degenerationThe comparison between protein profile of local isolates with standard PPMV by SDS - PAGE all isolates and standard strain revealed no variation was observed among themBy cross - neutralization , the isolated strain appear to be related to the standard PMVPreparation of oil and gel a locally inactivated vaccine against PPMV - 1
