Aim: Aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of hyaluronic acid on implant stability, soft tissue healing and post-operative pain after immediate implant placement. Research question: Does topical application of hyaluronic acid with immediate implant placement in systemically healthy patient will provide more implant stability, better soft tissue healing or less post-operative pain than immediate implant placement alone in anterior and premolar region in systemically healthy patients? Methodology: 24 patients indicated for immediate implants were randomly allocated in to 2 equal groups. Intervention group (Immediate implant with topical application of HA) and control group (immediate implant with topical application of placebo gel). implant stability was evaluated at baseline and after 6 months using osstell, soft tissue healing was assessed after 10 days during suture removal using likert scale and pain intensity was assessed at day 0, 2 and 7 after the surgery using visual analogue scale (VAS). Results: The results of this study showed that the mean secondary implant stability was (72.3±4.8) and (71.5±4.3) in the intervention group and control group respectively with no significant difference between both groups (P=0.656).The mean implant stability percent increase was (36.4±8.6) compared to (35.6±8.5) in group B.This was statistically not significant; (p=0.807). The median and range of the soft tissue healing scores was 2 [2-3] for intervention group and 3 [2-3] for control group with no statistically significant difference between both groups (P=0.424). vii Regarding post-operative pain, there was only significant difference at day 2, where the median and range of the VAS scores was 4 [3-6] for intervention group and 6 [5-6] for control group (p= 0.001)
