Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communications Summary: This thesis describes an electrostatic solver for two dimensional shielded and open set of conductors of arbitrary planar geometry with the purpose of calculating their capacitance matrix. The proposed solver technique entails a static analysis evaluating all fields and potential in terms of orthogonal eigenmodes that satisfy Helmholtz{u2019}s equation of canonical cavity, loaded with conductors charged with constant voltages. This analysis is adequate for enclosed conductors and dielectric inside a conducting box and for open problem in an unbounded medium
