Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Summary: Immediate implant placement following dental extraction has shown similar success rates as implant placed in healed sites Several grafting materials have been proposed in the literature in order to augment the gap surrounding the implant after installation in the fresh extraction socket This present study was conducted to assess the PRF as as PACE filling material in comparison to the use of deportinized bovine bone to augment the jumping gap This was a randomized controlled clinical trial conducted on 20 patients to evaluate available crestal bone height loss, bone density and implant stability after performing immediate implant in fresh extraction sockets in maxillary premolars and using deproteinized bone covered with collagen membrane for jumping jap filling versus using PRF plug as aspace filling material. All patients were recalled 2 days after the operation then weekly for one month then monthly until the prosthetic phase 6 month postoperative. The clinical evaluation included assessment of post operativesequelae including edema, pain and postoperative healing. Radiographic evaluation involved cone beam CT radiographs taken for every patient 1week and 6 months postoperatively to evaluate crestal bone height loss. While implant stability quation were involved taking osstell readings using osstel device immediately after implant insertion and 6 months postoperative at time of implant of exposure. Concerning changes in buccopalatal dimensions of the sockets the group of deporitinized bovine bone showed less reduction inwith average 0. 59 mm than platlet rich fibrin group in which reduction was 1. 62mm all results have clinical significance
