Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Department of Histology and Cytology
Tongues from 35 adult rabbits of both sexes, 22 females and 13 males, were used in this study. The tongue appeared relatively narrow and long. It was running from the spex (anterior) in the direction of the root (posterior) with a rounded tip in front. The tongue was demarcated into three regions: 1- Anterior zone for the filiform and fungiform papillae. 2- Middle zone or the intermolar eminence for the filiform papillae
