The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) has been implicated in the pathophysiology of diabetic nephropathy (DN). Aiming at understanding the RAS to predict diabetic nephropathy, plasma renin activity plasma angiotensin II and serum angiotensin converting enzyme activity were measured in 61 NIDDM patients and 15 healthy controls
