The objective of the study was the evaluation of growth performance and the molecular pattern of a local crossbred population of chicks that has been selected five generations for increased 6-wk BW. Three populations, differing in their genetic backgrounds, were used as parental populations: a normally feathered local crossbred line (CEI), a slow-growing commercial broiler strain (SGB), and genetic control line CE2
