Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anaesthesia Summary: Assessment of the volume status during renal transplant surgery is mandatory to optimize hemodynamics. Traditional accepted methods for perioperative volume assessment are invasive, can subject the patient to complications and are not applicable in all surgical patients. The aim of the present study was to find a new simple noninvasive method to assess the volume status and to evaluate the correlation between the ultrasonographic assessment of cross sectional area and diameter of internal jugular vein to central venous pressure, left ventricular end diastolic area, pulse pressure variation and velocity time integral as tools used to assess the volume status in pediatrics patients undergoing renal transplant surgery during three time intervals after induction of anesthesia, before clamping and after declamping renal vessels
