Fetuin-A, is produced by the liver and placenta a natural inhibitor of the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase in liver and skeletal muscle. Adiponectin is an adipocyte-derived peptide with anti-inflammatory effects. This study was conduucted on 80 newborn babies, Fetuin-A levels were found to be significantly high in all high risk groups. No significant differences in adiponectin levels were found. No correlation was found between Fetuin-A and adiponectin in all groups of the study
