Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Analytical Chemistry
To develop and validate simple, rapid and selective spectrophotometric methods for micro-determination of Gemifloxacin mesylate (GMF), Moxifloxacin.HCl (MXF), Gatifloxacin sesquihydrate (GAF) and Ciprofloxacin.HCl (CPF) drugs in pure and in pharmaceutical preparations through the ion-pair formation reaction with Rose Bengal Disodium Salt (Rb) and iron (III) hexathiocyanate (FSN) reagents in aqueous media. 2- To prepare, separate and elucidate the structures of solid ion-pairs of Gemifloxacin mesylate, Moxifloxacin.HCl, Gatifloxacin sesquihydrate with Rose Bengal reagent by the elemental analysis and (FT-IR and 1H-NMR) spectroscopic techniques. 3- To describe the importance of combination of several analytical techniques (FT-IR and 1H-NMR) in elucidating the structures of solid ion-pairs of GMF, MXF, and GAF with Rb reagent. 4- To investigate the biological activity of these drugs in comparison with their prepared solid ion-pairs with Rb
