Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopedic Surgery
This study set out to find out whether treatment of fracture tibial shaft fixed with IL-Nail in adults with platelet rich therapy (PRP) accelerates bone healing and to describe advantages and disadvantages of this technique. The clinical and radiographic interpretations conclude that the defects that were filled with a PRP heal faster specially in type A fractures (AO classification) and tibial shaft fractures. Platelet-rich products have demonstrated great potential for use in acceleration of bone healing, and may be an effective, safe, and simple solution to problems that have dogged orthopedists for years
