The current study aims at developing and evaluating oral mucoadhesive drug delivery system of captopril as it may prove to be more productive than the conventioal controlled release systems by virtue of prolongation of drug residence time in gastrointestinal tract . Matrix tablets of captopril were formulated using different mucoadhesive polymers in various ratios namely 1:1, 1:2 , 1:3 drug polymer ratio
