Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopedic Surgery Summary: The term of distal tibial had been used to describe intraarticular and extra-articular fractures of distal tibia. In our study, that was done on 20 closed distal tibial fractures (ex clued two lost to follow up) with mean age (36.25 years). Mode of trauma were RTA (45%) FFH 25%, MBA 20%, direct trauma (10%). We operated all patients by using MIPO the operative time average was (80-150 min) we fixed the fractures through 5 cm incision over the medial malleolus. And proximal about 2-3 cm incision proximal to end of fracture line. Subcutaneous tunnel over the periosterum was created between two incisions by blunt instrument we inserted plate through this tunnel and fixed plate under fluoroscopy
