The present work provides a numerical study for the charactetistics of turbulent non - premixed methane- air flames in vertical axisymmetric free jt .The predictions are based on the fundamental approach of mixture fraction\probability density function (PDF) which involves the solution of transport equations for mass momentum and fuel mixture fraction using SIMPLE algorithm with upwind method and visual FORTRAN
