Technical challenges associated with multi well pads in coal seam gas development / Mohamed Borhan Bakeer Soliman ; Supervised Abdelsattar Dahab , Salah Eldin Elkatatny

By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Publication details: Cairo : Mohamed Borhan Bakeer Soliman , 2016Description: 124 P. : facsimiles ; 30cmOther title:
  • التحديات الفنية المصاحبة لتطوير الفحم الغازية باستخدام الرقع ذات الأبار المتعددة [Added title page title]
Subject(s): Online resources: Available additional physical forms:
  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Metallurgical Engineering Summary: In this thesis, full description of gas production from coal formation is presented. That include reservoir characteristics, field development strategies and coal seam gas production operations. Challenges of coal seam gas production lead to the trial of multi well pad as a cost reduction technique. That technique proved to be cost effective in shale oil/gas in the US. Feasibility of applying multi well pad in coal seam gas development is discussed and followed by detailed evaluation of drilling challenges associated with it. Field application is presented to show how these wells can be drilled with current coal seam gas rigs and challenges of using this kind of rigs in drilling multi well pad wells
