Spatial diversity is one of the most efficient techniques used to overcome fading in wireless systems which can be accomplished by cooperative communications. In addition to achieving spatial diversity, cooperative communications increase the coverage area of mobile communications. Cooperative communications describes strategies to transfer data form the source to the destination by employing relay nodes between them.
