Micro RNAsare small non - coding RNAs that regulate the expression of many genes . Thus they play a very important role in regulating many biological processes . Any dysregulation in their expression levels may lead to disease progression . Detection of changes in expression of specific mi RNAs in certain diseases might help understanding the pathogenesis of these diseases or even finding more advanced therapies for them
