Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Pedodontics Summary: The aim of this study is to detect the presence of Candida albicans in the dental plaque and carious dentine of a group of children affected with early childhood caries.Results: This study was carried to shade light on the presence of Candida albicans in the dental plaque and carious dentine of a group of preschool children affected with ECC ,100 children participated in this study their age ranging from 3 to 5 years, children were divided into two groups: Group I includes 50 children affected with ECC, where four maxillary incisors are involved with the specific clinical pattern of ECC and history of nursing habit. Group II includes 50 caries free children serving as control group, children chosen from patient{u2019}s relatives
