Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Internal Medicine Summary: The prevalence of helicobacter pylori infection and the effect of its eradication on platelet count in 50 Egyptian patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) were investigated . 41 out of 50 patients were infected with helicobacter pylori (82%). H.pylori eradication was obtained in infected ITP patients who were not in remission and had platelet counts below 100x 109 at the time of infection assessment 2 patients failed to eradicate of H.pylori
