Hybridity becomes one of the most recurrent conceptual leitmotivs in postcolonial cultural criticism . It has thus become a tool that subverts the narrative of colonial power and dominant cultures by the very entry of the colonized into the mainstream discourse . It establishes a contact zone where cultures meet , clash and grapple with each other
