It is known that in honeybee colony the queen has influence on the behaviour and physiology of bee workersThe presence of a queen in a bee colony inhibits the ovaries development of worker beesthe ovaries of worker bees are normally rudimentaryHowever , ovaries of certain bee workers begin to develop , and become laying workers with removal or loss of the queen from the colonyThe term laying workersis sometimes extend to include not only those workers which actually lay eggs , but also those possess ovaries either partially or fully developed (Velthuis , 1970)
