تتناول الرسالة موضوع الحمامات العامة الرومانية في مصر وليبيا نماذج من مدينتي طيبة وقوريني(30ق . م. -400م) دراسة أثرية- تاريخية مقارنة.
الحمامات العامة الرومانية تعتبر مظهرًا من مظاهر العمارة والحضارة الرومانية، والتي كانت منتشرة في كل المدن التي تقع تحت سلطة الرومان، والدراسة هذه عن الحمامات العامة الرومانية في كل من مدينة طيبة في جمهورية مصر العربية ومدينة قوريني في ليبيا، مع شرح بالتفصيل لكل مكونات وعناصر الحمامات العامة الرومانية فيهما.
تبدأ من30 قبل الميلاد حتي 400 ميلادية، وهي فترات تقريبية لمعرفة تاريخ وتطور الحمامات العامة الرومانية, كما أن الفترة الزمنية لموضوع الدراسة هي بالغة الأهمية بالنسبة لعمارة الحمامات العامة الرومانية، وذلك نظرًا لتطور العمارة الرومانية المدنية بشكل عام خلال تلك الفترة، وذلك لأنها فترة تقدم الحضارة الرومانية في كل المجالات، حيث تعتبر الحمامات الرومانية من عناصر العمارة وحركة العمران, ولذلك تمت دراستها حضاريًا، إلي جانب ارتباطها بالصحة والثقافة العامة في الإمبراطورية الرومانية.
This Study discusses The treatise deals with the topic of Roman public baths in Egypt and Libya, examples from the cities of Thebes and Cyrene (30 B C. M. - 400 AD) archaeological- historical comparative study.
The Roman public baths are a manifestation of Roman architecture and civilization, which was widespread in all cities under the authority of the Romans, and this study is about the Roman public baths in both the city of Thebes in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the city of Cyrene in Libya, with a detailed explanation of all the components and elements of the Roman public baths in them.
The Importance of this Study is due to the Great Roman interest in Public Baths and the Two Great Roman Cities; Thebes and Cyrene, Where the Roman civilization left us, a lot of great architectural constructions, testifying to the power and greatness of Rome, the walls of the buildings consisted of huge blocks of stones, canals stretching over distant lengths, as well as grandiose temples, tombs, baths, playgrounds, theaters, triumphal arches, bridges, roads.
* Roman public baths were found wherever there was and wherever the Romans settled the process of bathing and going to public baths is a daily routine process performed by people throughout the Roman Empire with different time, climate and terrain, baths are considered a manifestation of Roman life and culture.
* The time period under study is an extremely important time period for the architecture of the Roman public baths, due to the development of Roman civil architecture in general during that period, because it is the period of progress of Roman civilization in all areas, and public baths clearly express the Roman culture that spread throughout the Roman Empire.
It starts from 30 BC to 400 AD, which are approximate periods to know the history and development of Roman public baths, and the time period of the subject of the study is extremely important for the architecture of Roman public baths, due to the development of Roman civil architecture in general during that period, because it is the period of progress of Roman civilization in all fields, where Roman Baths are considered elements of architecture and the urban movement, and therefore it was studied culturally, besides its connection with health and public culture in the Roman Empire.
The uniqueness of the layout of the Roman public baths in the two cities, as the location of each of them and the distance between them, and the difference in climate between them, as the city of Thebes is located at the far end of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the Nile River, and the city of Cyrene is located in the Far Northwest and near the Mediterranean Sea, where the two cities are located in the Eastern Roman States, and the layout of the Roman public baths in these eastern states differs from the layout of the Roman public baths in the Western states, due to the difference in climate and then the customs of the peoples of those regions, Egypt and Libya are considered important Roman States in the Roman Empire, The Shape of the baths in addition to the materials Used in the construction of baths in both cities.
