تتلخص هذة الرسالة في دراسة المعايير اللازم توافرها لتصميم وتشغيل محطات النقل البري للركاب مع مراعاة معايير الاستدامة في التصميم وتلبية احتياجات المستخدمين والعاملين بالمحطة. حيث تتركز الدراسة في أجزائها النظرية على عرض الاشتراطات التصميمية العالمية والمحلية لتستنتج منه الباحثة المعايير التصميمية اللازم توافرها. أما الجزء العملى فقد قامت الباحثة بدراسة تحليلية لعدد من النماذج العالمية الناجحة لمحاطات حديثة وعرض نقاط القوة بها لاسنتباط كيفية الاستفادة منها محلياً. ودراسة الوضع الحالى لمحطات النقل البري المحلية ومدى توافق تصميم هذة المحطات مع المعايير التصميمية التى سبق دراستها. ومن ثم وضع إقتراحات لتحسين الوضع الحالى لمحطات النقل البري المحلية من مواقف الأقاليم بإقليم القاهرة الكبرى مما تم استنتاجة من الدراسة العملية والنظرية بالرسالة

This thesis is focused on studying the standards that shall be considered in designing and operating the passengers land transportation stations in order to meet the users, workers and stakeholders needs in these stations, with respect to the sustainable design criteria. In the theoretical part the researcher studied the design of external spaces and buildings for the use of the disabled, in addition to the design standards of the transportation stations from many countries that have efficient transportation system. While in the practical part of the thesis, the researcher analyzed international case studies and implemented SWAT analysis on local case studies in the greater Cairo region also evaluated the situation of these local case studies. Then the researcher added recommendations to enhance the situation of the regional passenger land transportation stations located in greater Cairo.
