يقدم هذا البحث دراسة تحليلية تاريخية مقارنة لبدايات وتطور إستخدام ألواح وقطع الزجاج المسطح في تغطية مسطحات فتحات الإضاءة الطبيعية في واجهات المباني وموقعها وأهميتها في مفردات الطراز المعماري للمبنى خاصة والطراز المعماري عامة منذ القرن الأول الميلادي في الحمامات العامة الرومانية وأهم محطات تطورها عامة وفي مصر خاصة في القرون التالية وصولا لتغطيتها كحائط ستائري زجاجي لكامل مسطح جميع واجهات المباني شاهقة الإرتفاع ناطحات السحاب في مباني الطراز الدولي خلال الربع الثالث من القرن العشرين وتطور وإستمرار إستخدامها تبعا لتطور تكنولوجيا تصنيعها وخواصها وإمكانياتها التشكيلية لتصبح السمة المميزة بألواح الزجاج الزرقاء العاكسة مع ألواح الألومنيوم الفضية العاكسة لمباني عصر العولمة في الإتجاهات المعمارية المختلفة وبتشكيلات وتكوينات نحتية فنية متعددة متميزة لمباني عصر المعلوماتية مع نهايات العقد الثاني من القرن الحادي والعشرين

This research present Analysis Historical Comparison study to commencements and development using plate and pieces of flat glass in covering natural lighting opening in the façades of buildings and their role and important in the vocabulary of the building style specially and the general style from the first century in the public roman baths and the most important phases in their development in general and in Egypt specially in the following centuries to be curtain glass wall covering entire all international style tall buildings skyscrapers façades through third quarter of twentieth century and its development and continues using according to the development of its manufacture, properties, and forming capabilities technology to become characteristic with blue mirror plat glass and silvery Ammonium plat for globalization era buildings in the deferent architectural styles and with multiple various shaping and artistic sculptural formations for informational era buildings until the end of second decade of twenty one century.
