Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Growth and Development Disorders in Pediatrics Summary: Purpose: This study was directed to examine the immediate effect of induced fatigue following physical activity to competent level on acromio-humeral distance in adolescents. Subject, Materials and Methods: Five healthy volunteers were recorded every one hour for 3 times on both shoulders before the start of the study to measure the intra-rater reliability of Ultrasonography and the examiner was blinded, also Forty-seven adolescent rowers of both sexes aged from 14 {u2013} 18 years old with no sign of fatigue pre assessment were recruited from the Egyptian indoor rowing national championship, they were classified into group A, B and C rowed for 500- 1000 -2000-meters respectively, acromio-humeral distance assessment done pre-, and post-fatigue, using ultrasonography for both shoulders at angles 0- and 90- degrees abduction from a scapular plane that detected by a universal goniometer. To assess fatigue level pre and post rowing; Rating of Fatigue Scale and the Modified Borg Dyspnea Scale were used. Results: there was high intra-rater reliability of Ultrasonography (with ICC=0.971- 0.998 and P-value=0.0001*), the overall result of the effect of pre-post-fatigue on the tested angles (0{u00B0} and 90{u00B0}) was significant, all groups has clinical difference and percent of changes in acromio-humeral distance post fatigue in spite there was no significant difference of acromio-humeral distance at 0- and 90- degree (left and right side) at post fatigue in compare to pre fatigue for all three groups (A, B, and C) except for LT 0{u00B0} and 90{u00B0} in group A and LT 90{u00B0} for group C, no significant difference of acromio-humeral distance at 0{u00B0} & 90{u00B0} at left side in comparison to the right side or between groups
