Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Pedodontics Summary: Dental caries is a multi - factorial disease in which the signs of carious demineralization can be seen on the hard dental tissues, but the disease process is initiated within the bacterial biofilm (dental plaque) that covers the tooth surface. Regarding the differences in risk factors it seemed suitable to design a study to evaluate those variables in specific population. Therefore the aim of the present study will be directed to evaluate prevalence of dental caries and its association with tooth brushing behaviour and the intake of sweetened beverages among Iraqi children
