Dissertation note: Thesis (PH.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Science - Department Of Inorganic Chemistry Summary: Cis - Dichloro - (N , N , N ̀, N ̀- tetraethylethylenediamine) palladium (II) [Pd (Et4en) Cl2] was synthesized and characterizedStoichiometry and stability constants of the complexes formed between [Pd (Et4en) (H2O) 2]2+with various biologically relevant ligands are investigated at 37 C and at constant 016 M ionic strengthThe ligands used are amino acids , peptides , DNA constituents and dicarboxylic acidsThe results showed the formation of 1 : 1 complexes with amino acids and dicarboxylic acidsPeptides forms both 1 : 1 complexes and the corresponding deprotonated amide speciesDNA constituents form both 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 complexesThe effect of chloride ion concentration , dioxane proportion and temperature on the stability constant of [Pd (Et4en) ] - CBDCA] were doneThe concentration distribution diagrams of the various species formed were evaluated[Pd (Et4en) Cl2] , [Pd (Et4en) (CBDCA) ] and [ (Me2SnCl2) (Et4en) ]4H2O were isolated and characterized by elemental analyses , FTIR , 1H - NMR , Mass spectra and thermal analyses (TGA) The kinetics of base hydrolysis of free and coordinated amino acid esters were investigatedThe kinetics of base hydrolysis of the glycine methyl ester in presence of [Pd (Et4en) (H2O) 2]2+complex was studied in aqueous solution of different temperatures and in dioxane - water solutions of different compositions at 25 C and 01 M ionic strengthThe activation thermodynamic parameters (H , S and G) of the coordinated glycine methyl ester was also determinedAlso the stoichiometry and stability constants of trimethyltin (IV) and dimethyltin (IV) with Et4en in dioxane - water mixtures and at different temperaturesare established
