Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral Surgery Summary: The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of equine BMP (equine lyophilized extracellular matrix bone proteins) in reconstruction of cystic jaw defects. Twelve adult patients (3 males and 9 females) of an average age 20-40 years. Sufferings from cystic lesions of the jaws (mainly radicular), were included in this study. The patients were divided randomly into two groups: Group A (study group) comprised six patients, where the bony defects were filled with demineralized lyophilized equine bone matrix following enucleation of the cystic lesions
