Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communication Summary: This work presents a novel composite right / left handed waveguide with double - ridge corrugations. Simple and accurate analysis approaches are devised using equivalent circuit models and modal solution, which give insight into the physics of the structure operation. An equivalent dielectric - filled waveguide model is also introduced to replace any arbitrarily shaped waveguide, which allows the use of available Green{u2019}s functions with the proposed structure in problems of waveguide transitions and excitation. Finally, novel designs of diplexers, backward-wave couplers, and leaky wave antennas are presented
