Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Physical Therapy for Surgery Summary: To evaluate the efficacy of the pulsed electormagnetic field therapy (PEMFT) on meralgia paresthetica following appendectomy. Methods of evaluation (Measurement of the serum cortisol level and gabapentin medicament intake). Forty patients who had meralgia paresthetica following appendectomy, were divided into two groups. Group (A) received the thoracolumbar PEMFT plus the traditional physical therapy. Group (B) received the local pulsed electormagnetic field therapy plus the traditional physical therapy, duration of treatment was 20 minutes , 3 times weekly for 3 months as a total period of treatment
