Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: Five laterally methyl-substituted pyridine-based derivatives of 4,4¹-pyridylazo-3-methylphenyl-4"-alkoxybenzoates (18-1/6), with molecular formula 4-C H₂₊₁-O-C₆H₄COOC₆H₄(3-CH₃)-N=N-C₅H₄N, were prepared and their molecular structures elucidated via elemental analyses, infrared, NMR, and mass spectra. The number of carbon atoms in the alkoxy chain varies between n = 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 carbons
