Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Agricultural Biochemistry Summary: The aim of this work was to raise the viability of watermelon (citrullus lanatus) seeds (Gizal) and to reduce the time of storage experiments which takes a long time to study the changes of physiological and chemical components in the seeds . In the first experiment : Watermelon seeds were stored for two years in a store of Horticulture Research Institute Germination Percentage (GP) in these seeds at 60% the seeds were soaked for 15 minutes in glucose (10⁻⁴M) fructose (10⁻⁴M) disodium phosphats (10⁻⁴M) solutions and water for 1, 3 and 5 days at 4C{u00B0} and air dried for 1,7,14 and 21 days
