This study is an observational study aimed to evaluate children dental anxiety during treatment.Subjects and methods: The dental anxiety degree of 200 children, 100 males & 100 females with age range of 3-6 years old (mean age=4.8) who had primary tooth indicated for extraction was assessed using Venham Picture Test. In this study the children neither had any previous visits to a dentist nor did they have any history of any systemic disease nor hospitalization. Children were selected from outpatient{u2019}s clinics of Pediatric Dentistry and dental public health department - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Cairo University.Result: The study comprised of 100 males (mean age=4.88, SD=0.13) and 100 females (mean age=4.85, SD=0.12). Statistical analysis revealed no significant difference in age between males and females (p-value=0.233). In the present study Venham Picture Test was used to assess children{u2019}s dental anxiety at different times during dental treatment. An insignificant difference between males and females for all questions was noted.Conclusion: No significant difference in age between males and females was found. Gender has no impact on the dental anxiety. Regarding children, the highest anxiety provoking situations were taking anesthesia injection.
