A total of 40 clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae were collected from the main bacteriology laboratory of one of the largest teaching hospitals in Egypt . K. pneumoniae confer resistance to most Beta-lactamase including extended spectrum cephalosporins such as third generation cephalosporins (cefotaxime and ceftazidime) and fourth generation cephalosporins (cefepime) which are considered the primary treatment agents in nosocomial infections
