Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Economic Entomology Summary: This work was carried out in the apiary of the agriculture experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt under the environmental conditions of Giza region throughout years of 2012 and 2013. During the highest peak of the hornet abundance to study the relationship between predator (vespa orientalis L.) and prey ( apis mellifera L.) in some points as follow: (protecting or reducing the serious problems of honeybee colonies due to hornet attacks, the present work was undertaken to evaluate the efficiency of some hornet excluder devises in this continuation the cold storage of honey bee colonies as the method to protect honeybee colonies from attacking hornets
