Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Summary: Aim: The aim of the current study is to evaluate and assess the clinical stability and efficacy of patient specific 3D computer guided titanium plates versus the conventional titanium mini plates for accurate reduction and fixation of mandibular body fractures. Methodology : Twenty patients were selected suffering from isolated mandibular body fractures, divided blindly and randomly into two equal groups, Group I was treated with patient specific 3D titanium plates, Group II was treated with Conventional miniplates.Clinical evaluation included; patient satisfaction, Pain, occlusion and occlusal bite force. Radiographic parameter evaluated was fracture gap distance. All parameters were evaluated at One week and 3 months intervals.The Operating time was also measured during the surgery. Results: Group I have shown higher values of patient satisfaction scores and lower pain scores than group II at both one week and 3 months intervals.The degree of occlusal derangement has shown no statistically significant difference between both groups at one week postoperatively, while both groups have shown normal occlusion after 3 months. Occlusal bite forces in Group I were significantly higher than group II at one week and 3 months intervals.The fracture gap distance was statistically insignificant between both groups at one week and 3 months intervals. The operating time was significantly lower for Group I than Group II
