The persent investigation studied the identification of 19 S. aureus isolates (9 bovine and 10 human isolates) in comparison with the standard Cowan 1 strain by conventional metods and by PCR technology. The latter uses oligonucicotide primers targeted to species-specific parts of the gene encoding coagulase, enterotoxin A gene, enterotoxin B gene, mee A gene encoding MRS A and protein A gene
