Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Power Engineering Summary: Cogeneration plants for simultaneous production of water and electricity are widely used in the world especially in the Arabian Gulf region . They have proven to be more thermodynamically efficient and economically feasible than single purpose power generation or water production plants . The present work provided an investigation study for a cogeneration system , which utilizes the heat energy available in a gas turbine exhaust to be the heat source for a multi - stage flash ( MSF ) desalination unit
